Privacy
What this site does and does not keep.
The Backroad Brief is published by Upcott Studios. It is a small recommendation page, not a store and not Starlink.com. This notice is for this site only.
What we collect
We keep a single running visit count for the home page — a number, not a profile. Your browser stores a short session flag so the same tab is not counted twice. We do not ask for your name, email, or account, and we do not use that counter to store an IP address, location, or browsing history.
Share buttons run in your browser. If you post to X, Facebook, LinkedIn, or send email, those services receive whatever you choose to share, under their own policies. Copying the link stays on your device.
The speed test also runs in your browser. It times a short download and upload against Cloudflare’s public measurement service. We never receive or store the numbers. That request is governed by Cloudflare’s own policy.
Affiliate links
Links through to Starlink.com use an affiliate referral. If you follow one and later subscribe, SpaceX / Starlink may know you arrived via that code. We do not receive your order details. Their privacy policy governs anything you do on their site.
Other sites
Reviews and sources we quote (PCMag, CableTV.com, Reviews.org, and similar) are third parties. Clicking those links leaves this site.
